In fact, I still have them boxed away somewhere! The irony is the horses came in one cardboard box with a handle and decorated to store your family when play was finished. These horses are truly from The Days Before all the Wires and Plastic Locks and Boxes.

Love the creativity of your daughter!Ginahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10788740577135090145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9051113577658386956.post-47927135291875518652011-11-16T12:03:29.000-08:002011-11-16T12:03:29.000-08:00I am having as much fun travelling down memory lan...I am having as much fun travelling down memory lane reading the comments as the post!

Those are indeed special finds at a thrift. Usually as the cart rolls out to put new items out those would get swept up and never make it to a shelf.

I agree with previous commenters for myself, and for my son it was star wars toys and TMNTs. Surprising how well they have held up. But we did destroy the packaging.Laura S Readinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09812735660993028271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9051113577658386956.post-48958613011122347812011-11-05T03:30:08.139-07:002011-11-05T03:30:08.139-07:00I did play with Lego's and Tinker Toys as a ch...I did play with Lego's and Tinker Toys as a child, but one of the toys that I remember fondly was a mini Disney movie projector. You inserted a cartridge and turned the crank and watched a cartoon magically unfold. You could speed it up or slow it down. You could even run it backwards. Alas, it broke, and I have not seen anything like it in the marketplace since.

Other favorite toys included Play Doh and View Master, although I must admit I like them now more than I did as a child.

But my most favorite were and continue to be stuffed animals. I have a rather large collection of them - at least for a grown adult. I have always loved creating characters out of them and enacting stories. I'm an aspiring children's writer, and I've found this to be a great way for me to come up with story ideas and stretch myself creatively.Serenahttp://www.qualityvaluefinds.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9051113577658386956.post-84751973163127463912011-11-03T13:14:56.921-07:002011-11-03T13:14:56.921-07:00Darth Mama,

Both my kids (7 and 3) play with them constantly, and they make wonderful carpet mines for the barefoot in the early morning (no need for coffee to wake you up after stepping on a Lego piece). Most of their Lego treasure trove they inherited from their cousins, but I did find an entire village of Lego people at a yard sale once. My kids were just in heaven with that find.Darth Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03755198717336214702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9051113577658386956.post-30502966591471617292011-11-03T02:21:00.978-07:002011-11-03T02:21:00.978-07:00The image are really nice. They can be found yardsaling and hand-me-downs are great, but a nice set of wooden blocks is priceless.* elizabeth *https://www.blogger.com/profile/10396838227827068803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9051113577658386956.post-12894501681330742412011-11-02T07:20:23.922-07:002011-11-02T07:20:23.922-07:00Your photo caught my eye, because I had that baby ...Your photo caught my eye, because I had that baby in the middle when I was a kid!
