The return receipt!I've bought a lot of stuff because of that thing. No more! Thanks for the heads up. I think I was hypnotized by it.

No return receipts for my family. We make our gifts for each other.

This holiday season, I vow to spend more TIME, less money. I will:
-invite friends and family over to share a pot of chili or a hearty soup.
-take in a free or low-cost holiday concert, or sit quietly and listen to a favorite CD.
-use my public library more, to borrow books, magazines, music, movies.
-bundle up and walk the dogs through crunchy leaves or falling snow. No more excuses.
-Take time to teach someone to knit or crochet, passing on skills that I once learned from others.
-Bake a big batch of homemade cookies and take them to the homeless shelter in the next town.
This is the year I will give time, love, friendship for Christmas. No gift receipts needed.

Ms Bee Balm,
Funny you mention teach someone to knit. I'm going to teach Little Pie how to purl this weekend. She's a great knitter.

I think you have plans for a meaningful holiday season!

Anonymous, I do believe you just might of been hypnotized too!

Usually I throw away return receipts because I put enough effort into picking things out for people that they're just unnecessary. I've passed along ONE ever, and that was when I bought a few gifts, an outfit, and a pair of shoes for a kid off of one of those giving trees. The rest I was confident about but I gave her the return receipt for the shoes because I didn't want her to be stuck with them if the fit wasn't quite right even though the number was.
